Reel Power Marine & Energy, a leader in engineered handling solutions, has successfully designed and manufactured the world’s largest thermoplastic pipe coiler, setting a new benchmark in the industry for capacity, automation, and operational efficiency.
This custom-engineered Pipe Coiler System was purpose-built to accommodate the growing global demand for high-capacity pipe handling solutions in energy infrastructure applications. Designed with flexibility and high throughput in mind, the system features a coil ID range of 108" to 178" (2743 to 4521 mm) using interchangeable coil ID pads, a coil width of 100"(2540 mm), and a maximum outside diameter (OD) of 264" (6706 mm). Capable of handling coil weights up to 32,000 lbs (14,515 kg), the system supports pipe diameters up to 8 inches (203 mm).
Operating at speeds up to 100 feet per minute (30.5 MPM), the coiler is driven by a high-performance variable frequency drive and features servo-controlled automatic levelwind for precision layer control. For added productivity, the unit incorporates servo controlled semi-automatic banding and a robust coil unload lift table, streamlining the unloading process.
The system includes a touchscreen interface, complete with programmable coiling recipes that allow operators to configure and execute coiling parameters, ensuring consistency and repeatability across production runs.
This system reinforces Reel Power Marine & Energy’s commitment to innovation, scale, and advanced automation, solidifying its position as a global leader in engineered solutions for demanding energy and industrial applications.
